Almost all obese individuals develop cellulites, which are fat tissues trapped underneath the skin resulting in dimpling of the skin. Here, we’ll be discussing the procedures commonly used for removing cellulites:
Endermologie: This method of cellulite removal got approved by FDA in the year 1996. It is the foremost non-invasive procedure used for eliminating cellulites. The process is also referred to as roller massage therapy. It works by breaking down fat cells responsible for formation of cellulites. The regulated suction used during Endermologie stimulates circulation, which in turn makes the skin smoother. Endermologie is not meant for curing cellulites; it is used for reducing the dimpled appearance of cellulite affected skin. Usually, a patient needs to attend a minimum of 12 session of Endermologie to experience the results of the treatment. Once the dimpled look gets removed, it is advisable for the individual to get Endermologie once in every 3 to 4 months for maintaining the results. Endermologie is performed either by a cosmetic surgeon or an esthetician.
Liposuction: Liposuction is the most frequently occurring cosmetic procedure in USA. Liposuction involves use of a petite tube known as canulla for removing cellulites from underneath the skin. First, the canulla gets inserted in the body of the patient; canulla works by suctioning fat deposits and offer permanent results. An individual undergoing liposuction should be healthy and must be with 30-40 lbs of his ideal body weight. Liposuction is done after applying anesthesia; so the process must be carried out at the hospital or at the doctor’s clinic. The process is done within a few hours and the patients require a minimum of 5-10 days for complete recovery. However, they need to wear compression garments on the operated part of the body for 8 weeks.
Laser treatment: Laser treatment has not yet been approved by FDA for being used as a treatment for cellulite in USA. However, laser treatment is widely used in UK and other parts of Europe for eliminating cellulites and has till date shown great results. During the laser therapy, radio frequency waves make the tissues softer by application of infrared lights. These waves work by heating our skin and melting fat cells stored underneath it. Laser therapy is done in combination with endermologie and deep tissue massage.
